My mother said to always keep my happiness to myself, to never whisper it to others. People will evil eye you, even if they don’t mean it, even if they love you, even if they have beautiful souls, she said. They can’t help the evil that resides in them, so protect yourself. Remain silent.
Why are they remaking so many older Bollywood movies nowadays? I hear they’re doing Ram Lakhan now (not to take away from the many that have already been redone and failed). Like these “new” movies don’t even end up recreating the same magic; it’s just added color and some-what shitty pop music. Sure, a lot of the same story line ideas have been carried around through the years, but call it something else, don’t put the new movie on the same high pedestal the original is on. Honestly, Bollywood has some sexy new actors in it now compared to before sure (lol Jackie Shroff was never sexy sorry), but there’s a difference between having sex appeal, acting skills, and values. Please stop remaking old movies; they’ll never do better than the original. The day I’m like 50 and my kids are watching a remake of DDLJ, and calling it an original masterpiece, not knowing that it’s one of the best damn stories of the 90’s, is the day I’ll probably give up on Bollywood in total. Till then, I’ma hope I discovered and get to act in a traditional, original score.
